1)
I chose this build because I've been asked many times
about damage and strictly soloing with a priest. If you do not want to
be a support role at all and only want to level then yes, you do want to go
the route of shadow. While playing my priest I was playing side-by-side
with someone following the guide, so I was support. Also, I went on
instances and raids with my guild, so again I was support. I cannot
take credit for this guide. It is actually a compilation of several
trees. I looked at a bunch and took what I thought was best, so this is
not based strictly on any one talent guide found online. 2)
This is a build that will allow you to do massive amounts
of damage in either PvE or PvP fights. Make sure to cast your buffs
with a priest these are your savior. 3)
To attack be certain to use a range spell to pull and then
use an instant such as Shadow Word: Pain. After that it's up to
you. If you get in trouble use Psychic Scream and heal yourself while
the mob is running. Just be careful using it, so as not to pull other
low aggro monsters especially when you are low level. (ex:
Foreststriders in Auberdine) It can be annoying when they get caught in
the crossfire. 4)
Note that I came back to Wand Specialization. I
stayed in the Shadow build first before going to Discipline. I would
suggest switching around a couple of things to get it sooner, but I wanted to
set it up to get to Vampiric Touch quickly. Again this is your call. 5) For professions, I would go only one of two paths. Either Enchanting/Tailoring, this will get you nice amounts of gold later in the game, but up front it is very expensive. Use your second profession to make up for that. I personally like Tailoring because it helps you with armor and it also can help relieve some of the economic pressure by selling bags, which are almost always in demand, especially in new realms. If you don't like tailoring pick a gathering profession to earn money. Personally I like skinning because it's easy to find the materials (just kill a few animals) as opposed to mining, which is much more difficult. My second choice would be Alchemy/Herbalism. Potions, especially health, are ALWAYS, in high demand because they are consumables. People will use them in PvP or PvE because they don't want their character to kick the bucket. It does some good for the priest, but the priest already has some great buffs to use in the spells. |
